Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification
Open to Bryn Mawr and Haverford alumnae/i, the Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Education Program allows students to earn secondary teaching certification in the state of Pennsylvania in any of the major fields offered to undergraduates. Generally, the process can be completed in one academic year, provided the student has previously majored in the subject they plan to teach.
Student Life
The Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Education Program is a non-residential program. Post-bacc students take undergraduate education courses offered at Bryn Mawr and Haverford Colleges. Because the post-bacc program enrolls a small number of students each year (usually, between three and five students), the majority of students enrolled in education classes are therefore undergraduates representing a broad range of interests and experiences in education.
Campus Resources
Students in the program receive and have access to most campus resources, including the libraries, the athletic facilities, as well as to an e-mail account and commuter parking spaces. Students are welcomed to all campus-wide events. They may purchase meals in the dining halls. While students are encouraged to take advantage of campus career resources by scheduling meetings with counselors, attending information sessions, and setting up a credentials file, both colleges' on-line recruiting programs, through which students apply for jobs and schedule on-campus interviews, are for undergraduates only.
