Course Planning

Once a year, in late-February through early March, Bryn Mawr College plans the curriculum for the upcoming academic year.

Course Planning Process

In late February and early March of each year, courses for the upcoming academic year must be planned and entered in BiONiC. This will ensure that the course information is accurate in the Catalog and on the website.

Each Spring semester, departments will be asked to enter their planned courses for the upcoming academic year into BiONiC. Departments must provide the following information for each classes to be offered in the upcoming academic year:

  • Course to be offered
  • Instructor
  • Enrollment Limits and Lottery Criteria
  • Class Meeting Day/Time (must meet in approved timeblocks)
  • Preferred Classroom location
  • Topics classes: Topic title and description

In addition to the above, departments should review the course description as well as the approaches met.

Review this PDF for instructions on how to update course descriptions in BiONiC.

Please note: All academic department and program web pages have a “Program Requirements and Opportunities” menu item. The contents of these pages are the Course Catalog for that department/program. The data is a feed directly from Peoplesoft/Bionic.

Once the data has been entered in Bionic, you will be able to use the link below to check your course schedule.

.  You will be asked to log in to BiONiC prior to viewing the report.

Contact the Registrar's Office with any changes, additions, or deletions.  Note: new faculty cannot be added to a course until their hire paperwork is completed by the Provost Office.

When are the Updated Courses Available to Students?

In cooperation with the Provost's Office and the Academic Departments, the Registrar's Office produces and maintains the Course Guide in BiONiC for each semester. This information is syndicated in the , the Tri-Co Course Catalog, and on departmental websites.

Please note: The information in the Tri-Co catalog is manually uploaded and there will be a delay from when changes are made in Bionic and when they appear on the Tri-Co and department webpages.
