Automatic External Defibrillators (AED)

An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is a device that is designed to analyze heart rhythm and deliver a potentially lifesaving shock (defibrillation) to a victim of a sudden cardiac arrest. This lifesaving device is vital because sudden cardiac arrest strikes over 400,000 people across the United States each year.

The AED Program is managed by EHS, which establishes training, use, and maintenance of AEDs located at Bryn Mawr College. Each AED is tested regularly to ensure they are ready to use. A map of the strategic AED locations is provided below. In addition to these mapped AED locations, our Campus Safety and Athletic Trainers have designated mobile AEDs for their respective use.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact EHS (ehs@brynmawr.edu).
