Visiting Assistant Professor of Transnational Italian Studies

Bryn Mawr College invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor in Transnational Italian Studies with a 3/3 teaching load beginning August 1, 2025. Specialization in foreign language pedagogy with the capacity to teach an undergraduate program committed to dynamic language instruction in multi-sectioned language and culture courses, using up-to-date classroom technologies. Candidates with a demonstrated interest in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom are especially encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to an interdisciplinary study of the Italian language and cinema and its manifestations and usage in the present social context with a focus on de-gendering and de-centering Italian language to make the syllabus more inclusive and diverse. Applicants will be expected to participate fully in, and actively organize, the Department’s activities - both at the curricular and the extracurricular level. Ph.D. is required by the time of appointment. Active scholarship and record of research interests (conferences, podcast, public conversation) in second language pedagogy is required, and a second specialization in any field of Italian Studies with a preference for Transnational Contemporary Italian Culture and/or Cinema is highly desirable.
